Regional competition Start Tel Aviv 2017 for IT startups from Serbia and Montenegro – Application by June 25
This year's contest is dedicated to social entrepreneurship and urban innovations, and the project aims to motivate the startup community to use innovations to enhance everyday life in its cities and bring their activities closer to the citizens, says the Embassy of Israel in Belgrade.
The contest, which will take place in Serbia for the fourth time, is a joint initiative of the Municipality of Tel Aviv and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel. The winners from 23 capitals of the world will take part in the DLD Festival, the biggest international innovation festival in Israel, to take place on September 3-7 this year.
The winner startup companies will also be able to meet the leading Israeli entrepreneurs, business angels, representatives of technological incubators during their stay in Tel Aviv, and they will also get an opportunity to get to know how the renowned startup ecosystem of Tel Aviv operates.
The expert jury will choose ten companies which will present themselves at the final event, to take place in early July in Belgrade, on which occasion the winner is to be pronounced.
In order to apply, startup companies need to present innovative Web, ICT or IoT projects and have their product or concept relate to social entrepreneurship and/or urban innovations. The seat of the company should be located in Serbia or Montenegro, and the startup should be in its initial phase and have a developed prototype.
