Siri to read WhatsApp messages out loud

Apple's smartphone personal assistant Siri will be able to read WhatsApp text messages out loud from now on. It will make it easier for persons with damaged eyesight and those who want to use their phones without looking at the screen to use the app.

iPhone users can activate the new option in the app's settings and ask Siri to read out their latest message by turning the “Hey, Siri” option on.

Replies can also be made by issuing voice orders, as WhatsApp introduced the option last year. The options are available only for iOS devices.

Aside from conventional text messages, Siri can read e-mails as well.
