The public-private partnership for the development of the Vinca landfill is in the final phase of partner selection, City Manager Goran Vesic said and added that four companies had entered the final round, Beoinfo reports.

– We will get a partner in the first half of this year. This is possibly the biggest undeveloped municipal landfill in Europe. Our public utilities will need to start sorting waste – Vesic said.

The investment is worth around EUR 250 million, and, as previously reported, potential partners included Suez and Veolia (France), EVN (Germany), Urbaser and FCC (Spain).

The non-binding invitation was answered by 52 companies. The public invitation followed, with 11 bids submitted.
