Instagram revolution – Live video testing starts
According to The Verge, it seems that Instagram is testing the live video option in certain countries, such as Russia. Aside from the obvious bold “live” banner on certain videos, an option called “Go Insta” has also been spotted.
Even though Instagram has declined to comment on the media writings, the fact is that this social network is owned by Mark Zuckerberg, which makes the introduction of live video highly probable.
Facebook has invested a lot in virtual reality and ways of creating live video content in the past few years. As well, the recently introduced Snapchat-like stories point to the fact that what was once once an exclusively photo-sharing medium is opening towards the increasingly popular live streaming.
