KNEZEVIC: Register of all commercial charges and law on taxes and fees soon
– I want us to present the law, in cooperation with the Ministry of Public Administration and the Ministry of Finance, before the year ends, where we will above all list all the non-tax and non-fiscal charges, and then try to reduce them to a reasonable level in order to enable the commercial sector to operate as easily as possible – Knezevic said.
The minister pointed out that it was very important that the access to finance should be facilitated to small and medium enterprises.
– This is the weak spot when it comes to small and medium enterprises and we will see how they can come to funds as easily as possible and with as few procedures as possible – Knezevic emphasized.
He said at the conference on the SME sector, organized by the Swiss-Serbian Chamber of Commerce, that the government was making great efforts to provide the legal framework for a predictable business environment and the reduction of the number of procedures.
The aim, as he says, is for Serbia to climb even higher on the Doing Business list of the World Bank than last year, when the country climbed up by 32 spots.
Knezevic added that Serbia had hard-working and educated people, as well as the lowest operating expenses in the region, which made it an attractive destination for investors.
– We are bringing the privatization process to its completion and we should turn to the healthiest forces in our society, small and medium enterprises, which have a lot of strength and a great potential for becoming the backbone of our economy's growth – Knezevic said.
