The ambassador of Russia to Serbia, Aleksandar Chepurin, and the minister of construction, transport and infrastructure of Serbia, Zorana Mihajlovic, talked on Monday, August 29, in Belgrade, about the extension of the Russian loan used to fund the reconstruction of railways in Serbia and the possibility of involving Russian companies in the reconstruction of the remaining section of the Belgrade-Bar railway.

It was concluded at the meeting that there was still a lot of room to expand the very successful economic cooperation on modernizing railways between Serbia and Russia through new projects.

Chepurin, as the report says, praised the cooperation with the Ministry and emphasized that he expected the successful cooperation to continue in the Government's new mandate.

Minister Mihajlovic said that Serbian construction companies might get more actively involved in infrastructural projects in Russia and jointly compete for new jobs, in which they'd be supported by her ministry.

The report says that Mihajlovic and Chepurin considered the upcoming visit of the prime minister of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev, to Serbia, the session of the Intergovernmental Committee for Cooperation between Serbia and Russia and the holding of the cultural and business event Days of Moscow in Belgrade in early October. They also talked about the Russian studies of the students of the Department of Railway Transport at the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering.
