VESIC: Contract to procure 20 low-floor single buses worth EUR 3.8 million to be signed soon

Belgrade City Manager Goran Vesic has announced that 87 new buses - articulated, single, school and electrical ones - will be in operation on the streets of Belgrade this year.

He reminded that 30 low-floor single buses had been procured in 2015 for about EUR 5.6 million.

- Very soon, within the next week, a contract will be signed to purchase additional 20 low-floor single buses worth EUR 3.8. The plan of the City Transportation Company (GSP) Beograd for this year includes another four procurements. The first two will take place in March, when quotations will be requested for 30 low-floor articulated buses and additional 10 low-floor single buses. April will see the acquisition of another 10 low-floor single buses and 12 school buses. Besides, the citizens already know that we signed a contract in January on the supply of about EUR 2.6 million worth of five electrical buses that will arrive in June - Vesic said in his guest appearace on TV Pink.

He added that certain number of electrical buses would be procured every year using the proceeds of so-called "Green Dinar" campaign because a big capital like Belgrade must have electrical buses to take care of the environment and reduce fuel consumption.

The city manager also stressed that because the citizens had decided so, all buses would be red, except for electrical ones, which would be green.
