Citizens of Serbia have no reason to worry because their money are in no way endangered by the Greek crisis, people at Vojvodjanska Banka told Tanjug news agency Tuesday, commenting on speculations in certain media that the situation in Greece could affect the operations of their banks in Serbia.

Vojvodjanska Banka, whose majority owner is the National Bank of Greece, points out that the money deposited by citizens is absolutely safe in banks in Serbia, which operated under strict rules of the National Bank of Serbia.

- A crucial factor of stability of Serbian banks is macroeconomic and political stability of Serbia, not the other countries. Domestic banking system is stable, highly capitalized and highly liquid, and it represents the healthies part of the Serbian economy - people at Vojvodjanska Banka stress.

The management of that bank underlines that, just like other banks in the country and the rest of Europe, they carefully monitor all the happenings in the Eurozone and are ready to react to possible spillover effects in close coordination with central banks.
