Sombor gets two biomass power plants - Slovakia's Energotex to invest EUR 12 million

Sombor Mayor Sasa Todorovic and owners of agricultural farms - Vladimir Boskovic in Aleksa Santic, Petar Roncevic in Stanisic, and the owner of Slovakia's Energotex SK, Jozef Balko, have signed a protocol of cooperation in the production of energy from renewable sources, it was announced on the city website.
Energotex SK will invest over EUR 12 million in the implementation of this project, based on partner relations with the city of Sombor, that is, settlements Aleksa Santic and Stanisic.
According to the mayor of Sombor, the protocol serves as a basis for the implementation of project that will make use of available potentials of the city of Sombor and agricultural farms to generate power from biomass.
- Aforementioned two villages will be energy efficient, and given that we hear from many investors in this field, we also expect new projects soon. I am pleased to be leading the administration that has done something visible to improve the life of our fellow citizens in a very short time - said Sasa Todorovic.
Jozef Balko, the owner and general manager of Slovakia's Energotex SK, pointed out that preparations for laying the "first foundation stone of cooperation" had taken two years.
