Italian senator Gustavo Selva, a member of the neofashist party of Aleansa nacionale, offered its resignation when the media announced that he had used Ambulance car as a taxi.

The eighty-year old Selva did himself a favour on Saturday night (June, 9th, 2007) on a TV show when he said that he came to the studio on time thanks to "an old journalist trick" - he had called the Ambulance saying he ws not feeling well and asking to be trasfered to his cardiologist.

Except that he had given to the driver the address of the TV studio and in this way used the Ambulance car to move fast through the traffic jam - of the streets in the center of Rome which were blocked because of the visit of the USA President George Bush.

In his resignation given to the Senate President, Senator Selva thanked the paramedics on the "quick and efficient help". Livia Turko, the Minister of health, didn't find this fun - she called senator's behaviour shamefull and irresponsible.

- This nasty "trick" could have had tragic consequences to someone who actually needed emergency help - said angrily the Minsiter, promissing that she would bring Silva to Court.

The Senate, the upper home of the Italian Parliament will decide weather they would accept Selva's resignation.
