At the land of Delta Agrar in Celarevo, the first commercial harvest of KIKU applehas been in progress and in less than ten days it will be available at shelvesall around Serbia.

This is the third year in a row since KIKU apple grows in the Podunavlje orchardand the first with the yield sufficient to satisfy the market needs.

KIKU apples belong to FIJU kind and club apples which means that only licensed producers which showed remarkable results and have paid attention to safety and quality of products can produce them. FUJI KIKU is the second kind of club apple with which Delta Agrar is trying to fulfill entire offer of apples at the local market and apart from the right to produce, the company has an exclusive right to distribute KIKU apples to territories of Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Albania. A part of this year’s yield will go to Russia this year.

- KIKU apples are planted on 40 ha which is tenth of total plantations in ourorchard and this year’s yield wil be some 0 tons hectare – Zoran Djogic, head of fruitproduction at Delta Agrar says for eKapija.

- It is a very good result for the young plantations because production is extremelycomplicated with increased demand for quality and next year we are expectingfull yield of some 80 and 90 tons.

Delta Agrar is a pioneer in club apples on our markets. Apart from KIKU, some twentydays ago, Modi is available in sales and as of November 1 harvest of 1 Pink Lady apple will start. The idea of clubproduction is that production, storage and packing must be the same everywherewhere these apples are produced and clubs are designed in a way they gatheronly the best producers.
