New Fiat Panda to Be Manufactured in Kragujevac?
The next-generation Panda is expected to be presented in 2024, as a crossover which follows the “less is more” principles and which aims to compete with Dacia models.
Fiat first showed what it planned for the model’s future with Fiat Concept Centoventi, a car which was presented at the 2019 Geneva International Motor Show. The car was said to share its basis with the not-too-long-before presented Fiat 600e and it is one of the three crossovers planned by the brand by 2027.
All things point to the fact that the idea is for Fiat 600e to be positioned slightly higher, in the sense of being affordable to the more affluent purchasers, whereas the new Panda will be directed at the purchasers who are ready to set aside a more modest amount of money for a car, but with simpler and smarter solutions, just like Panda used to be.
In addition to the fact that it is supposed to be attractive to European purchasers, the new vehicle could also be sold in other parts of the world, especially Latin America, Fiat’s biggest market in terms of scope.
Just like Fiat 600 and Jeep Avenger, which share the same platform, the new Panda will be able to have internal combustion engines, as well as an electrical drive, which would help it compete in different price categories.
We will know for sure what Fiat has planned for the next generation of Panda once it is showcased, which could happen on July 11, 2024. That’s when the 125th anniversary of the Italian car manufacturer is to be marked.
