Duel detergents looking for new owner – Sale of Beohemija-Inhem opens, starting price RSD 2.57 billion

The administrative receiver has opened the sale of Beohemija-Inhem from Zrenjanin as a legal entity through public bidding.

The most important pieces of property of the house cleaning products and detergents factory consists of registered trademarks (Duel, Duel Jorgovan, Duel Totalno Cisto and Deus), production facilities and a new liquid detergent factory, facilities and equipment, receivables and investments, as well as current investments – construction of residential facility in Zrenjanin and the Metalochemic hall within the factory...

The factory, owned by businessman Zeljko Zunic, started having major problems several years ago. Although it kept producing quality products, the factory found it increasingly harder to repay banking debts for loans it was taking out for current operations as well.

The bankruptcy proceedings in Beohemija were initiated in May 2016, and, due to the lack of a reorganization plan, the Commercial Court of Zrenjanin had to declare the company bankrupt in line with the law. The list of creditors is headed by banks, and the media allege that the claims exceed the value of the company by as many as ten times – Beohemija-Inhem's entire property amounts to RSD 2.6 billion, whereas their debts exceed RSD 25 billion.

The starting price is RSD 2,571,667,500.

The deadline for the deposit payment in the amount of RSD 1,028,667,000 is March 29, 2017, whereas the public bidding will take place on April 5, at 12 o'clock.

As confirmed for eKapija by the administrative receiver, Vasilije Jovanovic, Beohemija's facilities are operational and employ 250 workers.

– The products are delivered to the market as usual, and we also export to Bosnia, Albania and other countries, so we expect that there will be interested purchasers, as Beohemija's products are renowned and valued – Jovanovic said.
