Yazaki getting EUR 10 million from Serbia and city of Sabac – Japanese to employ 1,700 workers in car part production
Yazaki produces electronic and electrical systems for transferring information in vehicles, and they are planning to employ 1,700 workers in Sabac before the end of 2019.
According to the mayor of Sabac, Nebojsa Zelenovic, the arrival of one of the largest world companies followed the three rounds of selection in which eight Serbian cities took part.
– Many Serbian cities were interested, but the investor ultimately had the choice of Sabac or Krusevac and chose to come here. This investment is not possible if there is no team, and our city has it – Zelenovic said.
The opposition in the local assembly made up by the Serbian Progressive Party also voted in favor of the decision on incentives to Yazaki`s investment.
The head of the party caucus, Aleksandar Pajic, emphasized that the investment had followed the talks of the Japanese partners with the Government of Serbia. He emphasized that representatives of all parties in the MA of Sabac needed to be informed on time and involved in further negotiations with Yazaki.
Yazaki employs more than 290,000 workers in 250 factories, and the company`s capital has been estimated at EUR 3.2 billion.
