A new factory for manufacturing construction styrofoam of the local company Bekament, in whose construction EUR 4 million was invested and which will employ 70 new workers, has been opened in Arandjelovac.

Bekament has opened the factory within its production complex Banja Komerc, and the yearly styrofoam production capacity of the new factory will be 500,000 cube meters. By including construction styrofoam in its offer, Bekament will become the only local company which produces all the materials necessary for the finishing construction works.

All Bekament products are certified for the export to the EU and it is planned for the construction styrofoam produced in the new factory to be put into both the local market and the markets of the countries of the region.

The newly opened factory makes complete the production process from basic raw materials to final products.

Bekament is planning another investment, worth EUR 10 million, for 2017. This will be a factory for the production of paints, facade materials, construction glues and mortars, whose yearly capacity will be 250,000 tons.

Since its foundation in 1992, Bekament has been producing materials using the famous Vencac rock, and in 2010, the production of all powdery products was fully automatized.

The Government to help local companies

Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said in Arandjelovac that the Government had invested EUR 500,000 to help Bekament and that it had taken it upon itself to finish a three-kilometer road section near Arandjelovac.

– I'm happy and proud, because this is a Serbian family business and I am pleased that Kosta, as a father and a founder, now teaches his sons and grandsons how to approach life and work. They'll never tell you that it's too hot or that they find the work hard, only how to work even harder and export more – said Vucic and congratulated the owners for exporting to Albania and Croatia.

Vucic added that the Government was looking for local companies to help, but that few companies were as good as Bekament. He announced that, in the period to follow, local companies would have the advantage in tenders if they offered the same conditions as foreign ones.
