Mineco builds mini hydro power plants in Valjevo, Dimitrovgrad, Paracin and Brus

Mineco Grupa, which has, independently and with its partners so far in Serbia, invested over EUR 30 m in mining and other fields so far and which hires 850 people, got at the Second public call of the Ministry of mining and energy 4 locations for development and construction of mini hydro power plants in Valjevo, Dimitrovgrad and Paracin.

Investor is British Mineco Limited" (LTD), and with planned tripartite Memorandum of understanding, whose signing is underway, comprises preparation and implementation of projects of construction of three mini hydro power plants. At the area of Valjevo, at the Susica and rivers , two locations were assigned with estimated power of 470 kW, at the Kamnicka river, in Dimitrovgrad, a construction of MHPP of 346 kW was planned and at the Grza river in Paracin municipality, construction of MHPP of 404 kW was planned. Development of detailed plans and final decision whether and which location will be developed is yet underway. Total investment of Mineco LTD for the construction of these mini hydro power plants was estimated at EUR 3,3 m.

- Lately, Serbia has been putting great efforts to provide investors with favorable business environment. We hope all procedures for essential permits will speed up to facilitate investors. With the Memorandum of understanding, planned deadline is 12 months when investors should analyze option of development project implementation. Responsible institutions outlined they are ready to help investors to get to essential permits and other documents faster –Mineco LTD announces.

Last year, Mineco completed development of technical documentation for the construction of three mini hydro power plants at the Rasina river, the Brus municipality (2,2 MW) for which it has been waiting for necessary construction permits. Company’s business plan is to build mini hydro power plants of total installed power of 40 MW in the Balkan region.
