The Regional Innovation Startup Center has opened in Uzice. It will provide future technological entrepreneurs with state-of-the-art equipment and mentorship for the development of their innovative ideas, the cabinet of the minister for innovations and technological development announced.

– This startup center will give a new impulse to the development and digitization of the economy of Uzice. Innovations applicable in companies of the Uzice area will be developed here, and new startups will open as well, which will lead to an increase in the employment of the young – Popovic said.

He pointed out that one of his priorities was to support the opening of as many startups as possible, of which there are around 400 in Serbia at the moment, whereas Israel, which has roughly the same populace as Serbia, has around 7,000 startups.

In addition to space and modern IT equipment, at the startup center in Uzice, young entrepreneurs, as Popovic said, will also be given the support of the best mentors, which will educate them how to present themselves successfully in the local and the foreign market.
