Startup center to open in Cacak soon

The minister without a portfolio in charge of innovations and technological development at the Government of Serbia, Nenad Popovic, signed an agreement on the allocation of funds for the opening of a startup center in this town on September 20.

On this occasion, he pointed out that, as a town with an extraordinary tradition of enterprise, Cacak deserved to have the most modern center next to its Science-Technology Park.

– Of the RSD 46 million set aside by the Government, 20 will be used for the adaptation, 20 for the most modern technological equipment, and the rest for the operations and the content of what’s most important in a startup innovation center. This way, Cacak gets included in the network of innovation startup centers of Europe – Minister Popovic said.

He added that the town and its mayor, Milun Todorovic, were to be thanked for the result, as they had realized the importance of the project, providing as many as 620 square meters in the very center of Cacak.

Todorovic said that it was a great day for Cacak, especially for young people, but also all those interested in entrepreneurship and launching startups.

– We have produced results thanks to joint efforts, namely, the signing of the agreement on the new startup center of IT sector, which will be located in the very center of the town as part of the Cultural Center, on 620 square meters – the mayor said.

Todorovic reminded that RSD 47 had been set aside for the investment, of which RSD 1.2 million from the budget of Cacak and 46 million from the Government of Serbia.

– This is a big step in preventing the brain drain from Cacak – Todorovic said.
