VUČIĆEVIĆ: It is the right time for investments in Serbia

- Today is the right moment for investments into economic life of Serbia, because this country will one day certainly become part of European Union – said General Manager of "Grand kafa" and the President of Serbian Association of Managers (SAM), Slobodan Vučićević, at today’s (March 28, 2007) meeting, which was organized as a part of investment conference "Business opportunities for Canadians in the Western Balkans".

On that occasion, Vučićević once again emphasized that Serbia required investors willing to develop their business on that territory and to use huge potentials offered by our country. He pointed to the fact that the countries in the region of the Western Balkans had signed CEFTA agreement, which would soon result in the enlargement of local market and its growing into one of the most attractive investment and business locations in Europe.

The Executive Manager of company "BD Agro", Ljubiša Jovanović, pointed to the operations and overall reform experienced by that farm in the last few years, as well as to the investments in that company that currently exceeded 15m EUR. According to his words, what "BD Agro" expects in 2007 is further modernization of the operations. The plan is that the farm of that company in Dobanovci becomes the largest farm for milk production in Europe prior to 2010.

At today’s meeting, the activities were also presented by the General Manager of "Polimark" Vojin Starčević and Ljupčo Ristovski from the Cabinet of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Macedonia.

Conference "Business opportunities for Canadians in the Western Balkans" was organized by Mank Center for International Studies at the University in Toronto in cooperation with company "Dundee Precious Metals", the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Canada and the Embassy of Canada to Belgrade.
