Elaboration of study on adaptation of military airport "Ponikve" into civilian complex

The Regional Chamber of Commerce (RPK) Užice started elaboration of the feasibility study on the use of the military "Ponikve" Airport for civilian purposes, which is financed by the European Union in the scope of the Program for strengthening regional development through improvement of regional airports in eight European countries.

The project leader, Saša Savić, stated that the study should answer the question of justifying the transformation of the military airport into a civilian and show the economic justification of that investment.

The Study should be completed prior to April 2008, when it will be available to the authorized ministries, local community and potential investors.

Besides the work of the experts from Slovenia and the Transportation Faculty in Belgrade on this study, the help provided by the Ministry of International EConomic Relations and the Directorate for Air Transportation of Serbia is extremely precious.
