Golf training area in the Royal Montenegro Golf & Country Club of the Boka Group company was officially opened on August 25, 2013. The court, 100 meters wide and 300 meters long, already offers everything that is essential for intensive golf trainings both for professionals and beginners, Predrag Sekulic, the Marketing Manager in Boka Group says for eKapija.

- The training field will be open for the public late next month when the new grass is ready for maintaining. All of that is a part of the mutual initiative headed by Boka Group, Golf associations of Montenegro and Sasa Ilic, ex goalkeeper of the English Premier League whose role will be to present golf to the young people in all communities in Montenegro - Sekulic explains.

It is a project of the champion golf court with 18 holes, 1, 8 km long and 180 meters wide.

The first golfers arrive in 2016

The official opening of the golf court, house of golf, residential and business premises, villas, hotels and shop which will sell golf equipment of the famous world brands, is announced for 2016.

- With an estimated investment value of EUR 250 mil, this project will become the regional initial force for the tourist industry and will hire a large number of workers from the immediate surroundings and wider area – a collocutor of eKapija says.

Tradition of golf as of 1906

The Russian prince Dimitri Romanov, a great-grandson of the Montenegrin King Nikola I, accepted the invitation of the Boka Group founder, John Gvozdenovic Kennedy, to be the sponsor of the first Montenegring golf court. Otherwise, Romanov is a grandson of the Duchess Milica of Russia (Princess Milica Petrovic Njegos), who presented the first golf court in Montenegro, in Cetinje in 1906.

- Now, when golf is an Olympic sport, we will provide resources to create the first players in this discipline who will participate at the Olympic Games and other tournaments in the future – Kennedy said, adding that the “Boka Group initiative for the school of golf and the young” which will be led by Sasa Ilic, is an opportunity for the young people to get introduced with this sport which has been played in Montenegro since the last century.

Trainings will be held on the training area and later on the big court. Maybe a new Tiger Woods appears at the Kavac-based Royal Montenegro Golf & Country Club complex.
