City of Nis to buy building of Niska Banka

City of Nis has begun negotiations to buy the building of former Niska Banka in Nikole Pasica Street from Hungary's OTP Bank.

A commission formed by Nis Mayor Zoran Perisic in early February is estimating its value at the moment, Juzne Vesti reports.

Perisic reminded that a number of city institutions were currently paying rent to use office space, citing Parking Servis, Public Transportation Directorate and the City Housing Agency as examples.

As mayor said, the Serbian Ministry of Justice as well participates in the negotiations as the possibility of relocating the Court of Commerce is being considered.

This facility used to be the central building of former Niska Banka, which was taken over by the leading Hungarian bank OTP in 2005, and it is situated next to the municipal building of Nis.

Maybe even Chinese shopping center

Unofficially, this building is also interesting to a company from China, which plans to open a large shopping center in that city.
