Not even a temperature of 40 degrees Centigrade is a reason good enough for the workers of Novi Sad-based Best Izgradnja to slow down with their works on the building site in Vrdnik. Everybody works at full steam and, if everything goes as planned, this spa resort will get a 8,500-square-meter sports and recreation center until June 2012.

A new tourist center in the municipality of Irig will be a five-star luxury hotel with various accompanying facilities: indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a spa center, restaurants, parlors, a clinic, and a conference room, which will significantly improve the potential of the Vrdnik spa.

Lovers of clean air, wishing for a rest and recreation, will be able to find a new oasis of peace and quiet on the southern slopes of Fruska Gora, amongst lush vegetation and natural beauties of Fruska Gora's forests, situated only 20 km away from Novi Sad and 70 km away from Belgrade.

New center of luxury

A multipurpose hotel under the working title of Promont Aqua is under construction by Promont Group. Milinko Cicmil, owner and director of this company, says for eKapija that the main reason why they are building a five-star hotel is lack of similar facility nearby.

- People from Serbia are going to Austria or Hungary, and we have a potential to raise the spa tourism to a higher level. The new hotel will offer accommodation and other services to guests with deeper pockets, which have so far not been available at this spa resort, so that our target group includes people who invest in their health and have enough money to do that.

Between 7 and 10 million euros will be invested in the construction of this luxury hotel. According to the project designed by Novi Sad-based Ratan Inzenjering, the hotel will have 7 floors, two of which will be partially under the ground, and it will comprise 50 two-bed rooms and 7 suites.

Wells with geothermal water, of which temperature is 35 degrees Centigrade, are situated in the vicinity of the future hotel's building site, and the potential of that spring will be utilized for balneological and recreational purposes.

- Geothermal water will be used to fill mutually connected outdoor and indoor swimming pools and bathtubs, as well as for pearl baths and massages. Every suite will comprise a Turkish bath, sauna, and hot tub with thermal water. This water is of exceptional quality, and so will be the hotel - Cicmil explains for our web portal.

The future spa center is intended for all those who want to relax and undergo a spa treatment at their vacation. This spa center will also include a solarium and a gym with up-to-date equipment.

Water from the geothermal spring will also be used by a clinic for bone diseases, which will be part of the hotel. The hotel will provide equipment for all methods of physical medicine and rehabilitation, and it will also hire a professional team of experts.

The plan is also to use geothermal waters to heat sanitary water and cool and heat the hotel.

Corner for gourmets

Those who love good food will be happy to hear that the hotel will also include a restaurant with international and homemade specialties on its menu. This restaurant will have 110 seats indoors and 24 seats on a partially covered balcony with the view of the outdoor swimming pool and the hotel's garden.

A blend of beautiful and useful

Aside from resting and recreation facilities, the hotel will include various forms of business facilities as well. A multipurpose hall, specially designed for lectures, symposiums, seminars, will be situated on the top of the hotel. A room for meetings with 150 seats will be equipped with state-of-the-arts video technology for presentations, and there will also be a VIP parlor with a bar next to that room.

Irig Mayor Vladimir Petrovic announced that the construction of that luxury hotel had provided jobs for 32 people, and added that the new tourist center would be a driver of the tourism development in that area.
