Arandjelovac gets EUR 3.6 million shopping center in March 2012 - Fortuna Market to offer 15,000 articles at new facility

(Fortuna Center)

Arandjelovac will get a new shopping center, spanning 7,670 square meters, in March 2012. The company Fortuna Market started building this mini shopping center in April 2012. Once completed, its offer will include over 15,000 articles. This project is worth EUR 3.6 million and it will create 70 new jobs.

Fortuna already owns a 1,000-square-meter supermarket in the main street in Arandjelovac, as well as a small market in the central city zone.

In addition to food articles, future Fortuna Center should also offer its consumers textile products, household appliances, and audio and video equipment. In order to satisfy all needs of buyers, Fortuna Market has also decided to open a catering facility within the new shopping center, as well as a wellness center with a sauna and a solarium.

- What is also new is that our mini shopping center in Arandjelovac will offer a broad assortment of fresh fish, which cannot be found in Fortuna's existing markets - Gordana Todorovic of Fortuna Market announces for eKapija.

The total surface of future Fortuna Center is 7,670 square meters, 5,820 of which will be occupied by retail space with accompanying facilities, whereas the rest will be covered by green areas and a parking lot. The whole project is worth about EUR 3.6 million.

- Construction goes as planned and I believe that the works will be finished by the year's end so that Fortuna Center can be opened in March 2012 - said Ms. Todorovic.

The construction contractor is Krusevac-based Tehnogradnja, the author of the preliminary project design is Agencija za Projektovanje AD, Geo Kontrol doo designed the geotechnical study, while the land-utilization plan is designed by AR Plan Arandjelovac. Fortune will purchase the equipment for its new shopping center from Italian companies Arneg and Intrac.

This shopping center will be situated at the very entrance to the city, on Arandjelovac-Lazarevac main route. An integral part of the project is the reconstruction of Milana Toplica street, which will connect the city center with the new facility. People at Fortuna Market say that the street reconstruction works will start early next month.

Construction of the mini shopping center Fortuna Market will be partially financed from Fortuna's own sources (EUR 500,000), whereas EUR 3 million will be provided from a loan of the European Investment Bank (EIB) and EUR 500,000 from Italy's credit line. Both loans will be approved through Komercijalna Banka.

Jobs for 50 clerks

- We are going to hire 50 people to work as clerks in our stores, and we will also need 20 workers for security and cleaning jobs and jobs at the wellness center and playrooms for kids - says Gordana Todorovic.

Competition

- Fortuna Market is the leader in the food market in Arandjelovac, in spite of the presence of large market chains such as Maxi and Pekabeta. When it comes to food retailing, we cover 50% of the market in the city and its surroundings - people at Fortuna Market say for our portal.

The director and founder of the company is Dragan Jovanovic who was also the owner of the independent trade shop Fortuna, of which legal heir is Fortuna Market. He was born in Arandjelovac in 1959 and is engaged in a private business for 18 years now. Before opening his own company, he had been working at the trade company Kolektiv in Arandjelovac for 10 years.
