Municipality of Gornji Milanovac seeks co-investor for construction of new city stadium

Who is interested in investing in the construction of a new city stadium in Gornji Milanovac will be known on August 29, 2011, when the bids submitted by potential co-investors are scheduled to be opened.

The city stadium, spanning a gross surface of 6,814 square meters, with the stands with 3,500 seats, will be built on a lot owned by the municipality of Gornji Milanovac. That building land was first owned by the state, which transferred the lot to the municipality upon determining the public interest.

- After the bids are opened and the 8-day appeal period expires, a trilateral agreement will be signed between the municipality, the Serbian government and the chosen co-investor – Gorica Petrovic, head of the municipal administration of Gornji Milanovac, says for eKapija.

According to the terms from a public call announced by that municipality, the appointed co-investor is obliged to transfer certain part of the facility (not less than 277 square meters of net surface) to the possession of the Republic of Serbia after that facility is completed and an operating permit is obtained.

More details about the characteristics of the future facility and its value will be known upon selection of the company-investor, which shall also suggest a detailed preliminary design.

Once built, the new stadium will be used by the football club Metalac from Gornji Milanovac for its official matches. The club's current stadium does not meet the national football league's standards, which is why Metalac plays its matches at stadiums in Kragujevac and Cacak.
