Putnik Beograd is the first in the region to start the cooperation through franchising with Tulip Inn hotel brand, a part of Golden Tulip Hospitality Group corporation. This corporation owns 1,071 hotels and it is on the list of the world's top ten hotel chains.

Tulip Inn Putnik Belgrade is part of ATD Putnik, the company that was bought three years ago for 40 million euros by Metropol Group, which is an international investment group with Russian capital.

Largest Russian investment in Serbian tourism

Serbian Minister of Economy Mladjan Dinkic announced today at the opening ceremony that the investment of Russian Metropol Group in Belgrade-based Putnik was the largest Russian investment in tourist facilities in Serbia ever.

Dinkic stressed that the arrival of Tulip Inn international hotel chain in Serbia was very important since Serbia lacked such hotels.

Metropol Group CEO Mikhail Slipenchuk said that the company also intended to reconstruct Putnik hotel on Kopaonik mountain, which was also in their possession, but that they needed the state's assistance, especially in the construction of ski runs.

- Although we arrived at the time of the economic crisis, Putnik is the name we needed and we have continued investing in it. We are really proud of its history, authority and people who work at the company for a long time. We bought the company at the time when it was not in the best condition. As a strategic move, we have decided to keep only the hotel facilities and to stop providing tourist and rent-a-car services that were earlier provided by Putnik – said Slipenchuk.

A total of 50 people have got jobs in the newly opened hotel and certain number of them used to work at Putnik.

- All those who meet global standards of the work in the hotel business (knowledge of foreign languages, computer work) have got the opportunity to work for us – says Svetlana Nikolic, the Director of Tullip Inn Putnik Belgrade.

As Tulip Sales Manager Milos Cankovic told eKapija, certain bookings have already been made and the first guests will be Slovenians.

The average price of an overnight stay is about 115 euros.

It was built nearly four decades ago according to the project authored by architect Mihajlo Mitrovic. Due to years-long problems with its privatization, as a part of the property of Putnik travel agency, it was closed for almost two years.
