Multifunctional complex TQ City worth 35m EUR opened in Inđija - another 20 similar facilities in cities around Serbia

Unique multifunctional complex TQ City, at the surface of about 50,000 square meters, was opened on Friday (March 26, 2010) in the center of Inđija. The citizens of that Srem's municipality got the two-level trade center at 16,000 square meters, supermarket, business center, housing block, congress hall, hotel, faculty, library, playhouse for kids, heliport. In that "city in the city", as people in Inđija call it, investor, architect and contractor Tradeunique invested 35m EUR.

- About 100 companies will have their premises in TQ City. The complex comprises 170 apartments, 100 of which have been sold, while 70 are hotel suites for future students and young geniuses of Inđija – Mirko Latinović, the President of Tradeunique, told eKapija.

Retail stores in that trade center have already been opened by Delta Maxi, Forma Ideale, DM drugstores, N Sport, Stylos, Extreme Intimo, ZEN pharmacies, Style Co, Galerija Arkade and others. The plan is that about 1,000 people find jobs in TQ City.

- The municipality has backed this project from the beginning. The facility is built in the location that the municipality sold to Tradeunique. Together with the Technical Faculty in Novi Sad we have purchased a part of the space, so that the first faculty in Inđija will be put in operation in October, that is, there will be about 200 students at two departments of information technology per year – Goran Ješič, the Mayor of Inđija, told eKapija.

Ješić pointed out that Inđija was not only good place for investments, which made it famous over the previous few years, but also, thanks to the projects such as TQ City, good place for living.

In the process of construction of TQ City, which lasted for 3 years, the highest global standards of planning, architecture, civil engineering, electric and mechanical building were applied, and the complex is surrounded by a park.

Zemun is next

Mirko Latinović announced for eKapija that Tradeunique planned to build another 20 similar facilities in cities around Serbia and that the implementation of the first project would start in Zemun in 2011.

- TQ City in Inđija is the first, we can say, experimental facility in Serbia. We plan to build similar facilities in other municipalities, but that also depends on the financial situation in the global market. Our aim is not to make a complex, but that certain facility can be used, bought or rented by someone, which will be the main criterion in selection of cities in which the construction will take place. Construction of a complex in Zemun is in the pipeline, followed by one in Belgrade – said Latinović.

He also pointed out that every city had its specific characteristics, so that the city concept would dictate contents of TQ center, meaning that there would be no two identical facilities.
