The first furniture showroom of Austrian company "Kika" was opened last night (November 24, 2009) on Bežanijska Kosa, but the first customers will be able to enter this store starting from tomorrow at 10 AM. The facility has three levels and "Kika" will offer the citizens over 30,000 articles, including dishes, carpets, lamps, cupboards, beds and furniture sets for living room.

The CEO of "Kika", Pol Koch, said that Serbia was the sixth country entered by that company over the previous year, and that "the result of the family company's centennial work" was noticeable in one of the most beautiful showrooms they own.

- We have invested 30m EUR in this facility and employed 250 workers. We have plenty of more to offer and we believe that few more our showrooms will be opened in Serbia - Koch said at the opening of the showroom.

The Minister of Trade and Services, Slobodan Milosavljević, commended the Austrians for bringing "European quality and competitive prices" by opening the showroom in Serbia.

- We expect everyone to shop here with great satisfaction. "Kika" has made the right decision to invest in Serbia, and I believe that it will keep investing in new retail facilities in the country and employ even more people - Milosavljević said before cutting of the ribbon and the performance that involved dropping of two girls from the roof into a comfortable bed.

The showroom, which is dominated by the combinations of red and yellow colors, occupies the space of 24,000 square meters, 11,000 sqm of which are retail space. The ground floor is reserved for all "small items for households", while larger pieces of furniture can be found on upper floors at various prices. One can buy cheap rags for only 100 RSD, as well as expensive furniture sets made by renowned manufacturers.
