New Belgrade Flea Market land up for sale – City has two years to move outdoors market

The Belgrade Land Development Public Agency is selling city-owned building land. The object of the alienation is the land in a part of Block 43 in New Belgrade, on the corner of Jurija Gagarina and Antifasisticke Borbe streets, with an area of 20,500 m2. This is the location of the current Outdoors Shopping Center (Flea Market).

As the Belgrade Land Development Public Agency confirmed for eKapija, the city’s obligation is to move the flea market from the current location over the next two years. The City Green Markets claim that they have no official information yet and that, once they do, they will go public with them.

The ad says that the reconstruction of the hydro-technical system in the two streets is planned as well.

Let us remind that it was announced in early 2018 that the flea market would be moved to the intersection of the two main streets in New Belgrade. Although this had not been officially confirmed, the media reported that it was almost certain that it would be located beyond the intersection of Jurija Gagarina and Dr Ivana Ivana Ribara streets, behind Block 45. The plan was to raise a 3.2-ha facility with 900 sales points. However, in addition to the location problems, the works were stopped for financial reasons too.

The ad says that the initial price is RSD 1,676,983,025, whereas the bid submission deadline is August 15, 2019. The public bidding will be held a day later.
