Chamber of Commerce of Belgrade: Building companies to gather and talk about construction of residential space

- The Ministry of Infrastructure of Serbia and the Chamber of Commerce of Belgrade (PKB) will suggest holding of the meeting of building companies in order to initiate mass residential construction in Belgrade - that Chamber announced on Friday (August 7, 2009).

The Minister of Infrastructure, Milutin Mrkonjić, said at the meeting with the President of PKB, Milan Janković, that 20,000 new apartments could be built in that way.

The reason for such decision is direct influence of residential development on larger production and employment in more than 30 industrial branches, as well as constant demand for apartments.

- In that way, building sector can give the first impulse to other sectors of economy, employ capacities, increase number of employed people, and ensure payment of salaries - said Mrkonjić.

Janković said that PKB would organize the meeting of the entire building operative by the end of August - from manufacturers of building materials and building companies to contractors for finishing works. On that occasion, forming of the consortium for realization of residential development project will be suggested.
