Hotel in Lukovska Banja to be opened in September - 2.5m EUR worth of investment

Company "Planinka" has invested 2.5m EUR in construction of a hotel in spa resort Lukovska Banja, and the hotel is expected to be opened on September 1st. The investor from Kuršumlija decided to have a hotel built because the existing capacities were not big enough for all interested visitors of that spa resort whose medicinal water had been drank by ancient Romans.

- The first guests in this hotel are expected in September, and all rooms have already been booked. The hotel will have 2 suites and 64 rooms, most of which are with two beds. It will be equipped with all the necessary medical equipment. The hotel will be offering various medical services, such as hydro-therapy, mud therapy, electro-therapy, relax programme and others – Radoljub Vidić, the CEO of "Planinka", told "eKapija".

The hotel complex will comprise one indoor and two smaller outdoor swimming pools. New hotel in Lukovska Banja was designed by company "MD projekt" from Niš, while the contractor is building company "Crna Trava" from Leskovac.

The hotel is also intended for sportsmen because there are various sports fields in spa resort Lukovska Banja: the hall for handball, volleyball and basketball, two outdoor sports courts for mini sports, sand court, indoor swimming pool, ski track with ski lift.

When it comes to number of thermo-mineral springs (37), with water whose temperature ranges between 35 and 69 degrees, and the capacity of over 100 l/s, Lukovska Banja is one of the richest spa resorts in Serbia.

- This water is used for heating of all facilities in the spa resort, which helps us save energy. We can also heat rooms in the summer period if necessary, while the temperature of water in the swimming pool depends on the users' requests and usually ranges between 30 and 36 degrees - said Vidić.

Waters in Lukovska Banja can be used in balneotherapy as supplemental means within medical rehabilitation, as well as for blood pressure regulation, treatment of rheumatic diseases, vein vessels, gynecological diseases, skin diseases, digestive tract diseases, eyes, reduction of blood in sugar, etc.

Lukovska Banja is situated in the south of Serbia, 36 km west from Kuršumlija, on the eastern slopes of Kopaonik mountain.
