Construction of the biggest shopping center in Serbia starts – Israelis investing EUR 150 million in BIG FASHION Vidikovac

The company BIG CEE, a member of the BIG Shopping Centers group, started building the BIG FASHION Vidikovac shopping mall on the Ibar road on March 31, 2017.

The investment is worth EUR 150 million, and the future shopping mall will be located on a 150,000-m2 plot of land. The biggest shopping mall in Serbia will feature 70,000 square meters of retail space, more than 300 local and foreign brand stores, a cinema complex, restaurants, a playground and various sports contents, as well as over 2,500 parking spaces. It will employ around 3,000 people.

Along with its accompanying infrastructure and access roads, the modern design of BIG FASHION, authored by the Belgrade-based company Dizajn Arhitektura, will change the look of this part of the city to a great extent, making Vidikovac a more beautiful place to spend one’s free time at.

According to the investor, BIG FASHION Vidikovac will be built in line with the latest technological standards, and the opening is planned for 2019.

– What we’re starting to build here in Vidikovac has not yet been seen in Serbia. No such building exists in Serbia, and possibly not even globally either. The project will revive this part of the city – said Robert Yahav, CEO of BIG CEE on the occasion of the laying down of the foundation stone.

He reminded that BIG CEE had been operating in Serbia for almost 10 years, since 2007, and announced that the first BIG FASHION center would open in the Visnjicka Street in Belgrade on April 20. Yahav also said that BIG CEE would stay in Serbia for a long time, as investments of the kind they made took thirty years to pay off.

As Yahav said for eKapija, around 300 exclusively Serbian companies are employed on the project.

The ceremony was also attended by Minister of Labor, Employment and Veteran and Social Policy Aleksandar Vulin, Minister of Mining and Energy Aleksandar Antic, Mayor of Belgrade Sinisa Mali and Ambassador of Israel to Serbia Alona Fisher-Kamm.

The retail complex BIG FASHION Vidikovac is the third investment of BIG CEE in Serbia, following the shopping malls in Novi Sad and the Visnjicka Street in Belgrade. The company is a member of the Israeli corportation BIG SHOPPING Centers, which currently operates with over 50 retail facilities in Israel and the US.
