"Serbian Railways" should sign the final contract on
construction of Belgrade’s railway station “Prokop“ with “Energoprojekt" on Monday (March 17, 2008), and the works should follow soon.
The construction of “Prokop"
has been entrusted at the end of August to the second-ranked bidder on the
tender – Belgrade-based company “Energoprojekt holding".
The contract with
the first-ranked bidder, Cypriot “Trigranit" was signed in June 2007, but, “due to additional requests
that exceeded the frames of the tender“, the contract was broken.
According to
the tender terms, the value of construction of “Prokop" was estimated to
about 200m EUR, and the first phase of works include construction of 128,000 square
meters of business-residential space on the concrete panel above the new
passenger railway station and 10,000 square meters of commercial space beneath
the panel, as well as construction of infrastructure that will connect station
with nearby junctions.
In the second phase of works, another 170,000 square meters of office space would be built within “Prokop" complex, and the value of the entire project is few billion dollars.
