Montenegro waits for bids for long-term rent of former military complex "Orjenski bataljon" in Kumbor

Government of Montenegro has invited international investors with experience and satisfying funds to submit their letters of interest for long-term rent of former military complex "Orjenski bataljon" in Kumbor, in the Bay of Kotor, including construction and management of tourist summer holiday resort of the highest class, to the address of the Ministry of Defense in Podgorica prior to June 20, 2008.

- International tender for that project should be announced in July 2008 - European Bank for REhabilitation and Development (EBRD) announced on its web site.

In addition to sufficient funds, potential investors are expected to have at least ten years of experience with planning, construction, marketing and management of exclusive, ecologically sensitive and economically profitable summer holiday resorts, and that they had achieved good results in that field, in order to make it possible for that tourist complex, along with all related contents, not to violate the beauty of the nature and ecological wealth, which is the Government's intention.

According to the invitation for submission of bids announced on the web site of EBRD, the location of the military complex in Kumbor occupies total of 241,695 square meters, it offers exceptional opportunities for construction of one of the most exclusive tourist complexes on the Adriatics.

The renter is expected to pay annual rent based on the turnover, but minimum guaranteed rent will also be determined. The amount of the rent, deadlines and structure of the rent will be significant criteria for evaluation of bids.

The renter is obliged to submit the investment plan for period of 36 months, starting from the day the rent contract is signed, and the amount of the projected investments will also be of significance for the evaluation of bids and selection of the best bidder.
