Jobs for 5,000 workers - Canadian-Chinese investors to build congress center and hotel in Belgrade?

Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic conferred on Tuesday with Israeli Ambassador Joseph Levy at a meeting at which designs to build a hotel and congress center with accompanying amenities in Belgrade was presented, it was announced on the website of the Serbian government.

The hotel and congress center construction project was presented by Ambassador Eytan Ben-Zur representing the Canadian-Chinese investor interested in the implementation of the project.

Ben-Zur said that upon completion of the first stage of construction works, jobs for 2,000 people would be created, while 3,000 more people would be employed upon completion of the project in three years.

Vucic said that foreign investors were welcome in Serbia provided they obeyed the country's law in their line of business, adding that the project would be important for the progress of both Belgrade and Serbia in case the Canadian-Chinese investor, the Serbian government and the City of Belgrade "find common grounds." Levy underscored that foreign investors recognized Serbia as an area where a favorable business environment was being set up and that an increasing number of companies were becoming interested in investing.

Vucic introduced Levy to the current economic situation in Serbia and positive results of economic measures of the Government, and Levy thanked Vucic for his great contribution to the improvement of relations between Serbia and Israel, it was announced on the Serbian government's website.
