Italian investors are building industrial – logistics park in Kragujevac worth 25 millions EUR

The City Mayer of Kragujevac, Veroljub Stevanovic and representatives of Italian companies and associations, together with the company for investments promotion “SYNERGY”, signed yesterday (July, 23rd, 2007) Agreement of foundation of mutual mixed company “Sumadija – industrial and logistics park” which will be placed in the suburb area Cvetojevac, on around 60.000 square meters of space.

In realization of this project there will be invested 25 millions EUR,

- It is a matter of a commercial industrial zone, unique on the Balkans, and among rare ones in the European Union. The city of Kragujevac has reserved for this project 11 hectares of land, near the highway towards Batocina, which is 10% of foundation capital, while the Italian investors will finance the construction of the object. – said Stevanovic.

Pointing out the significance of this project not only for Kragujevac and Sumadija, but also for entire Serbia, Stevanovic said that this logistics park would be the center of industrial exchange between Italy and other European countries, Balkan countries and Russia.

- This will be a logistic base from which the entire export will travel to South – Eastern Europe. But it will not be only for Italy, but for companies from other countries of the European Union. This kind of project hasn’t been seen yet on the Balkans – estimated the official representative of the Italian company “SINERGY”, Dino Piovesan.

The construction of this industrial-logistics park in Cvetojevac will start on May, 15th, 2008, and works should be finished by Mid October, of 2009.
