Belgrade to get new settlement for 5000 people - Strazarska kosa on 28 ha will have school, kindergarten, sports facilities

On the outskirts of Belgrade, a large settlement on 28 ha could emerge, At the crossroads of Veliki Mokri Lug, Brace Jerkovic and Kumodraz, along Strazarska kosa street, it was planned that green area becomes urban area with residential buildings, modern roads, nurseries, school and sports complex.

Having in mind natural features of the area, there is a potential for implementation of quality and comfortable residential settlement. Immediately under the location there is a park forest Stepin lug (old name Titov gaj). The settlement is located at 300 m of elevation with a view over the surrounding landscape. Views, spatial forest area Stepin lug, sunny and fresh location, provide the option for construction of comfortable settlement, it was stated at the Draft of the detailed regulation of Strazarska kosa street in Veliki Mokri Lug which has been at public inspection.

Therefore, development of the plan started with the objectives such as rehabilitation of active sliding area, defining public interest, creation of planned options for construction, providing optima special purpose distribution, intensive activating locations with real interests for investments, check of capacities of existing and planned technical infrastructure.

Residential settlement, commercial, sports and cultural facilities

Zone S is defined as a residential zone. Construction of separate facilities (2,7ha), houses in a row with a green area (2ha) and facilities for more families in new complexes (7,6ha) was planned.

When it comes to commercial facilities, construction of facilities for retail shops, catering facilities, facilities for business and scientific and research work is planned.

On 0,1 ha, construction of open public space is planned which will be located at the highest point within Block 3 which reaches Nova 2 to Nova 4 streets. The square will be circled with commercial and residential units.

Green areas, a part of Stepin lug located within wind protection areas, are necessary to be preserved in the original shape with additional trees and plants so that proper wind protection regime, erosion protection, snow protection, etc. would be provided.

GSP line 33

In the existing condition, near this area, there are no bus lines of public city transport. According to developmental plan of the public city transport, the Directorate for public transport is planning to prolong the route of line 33 to the planned sports and recreation center so that it could serve the area within the plan when conditions are fulfilled and in line with the planned number of people.
