Hellenic Business Association of Serbia (HBA) is once again very proud that certain member companies have demonstrated their socially responsible awareness and contributed to Serbia's fight against the Covid-19 virus.

In prevention of spread of the new virus, and treatment of patients in the country, financial or material contribution has so far been made by these HBA member companies: Alumil YU Industry, EKO Serbia, Eurobank, Fabrika šećera Crvenka, Kleemann and Titan cementara Kosjerić.

According to the management of Alumil ΥU Industry, which is the representative office of Alumil in Serbia and a socially responsible business unit, the company strives to provide support, first of all by taking measures to protect the health and safety of its employees, and then through donation to the state and its health system. "The care of infected patients by healthcare professionals is a very important task, which carries a great risk because it is known that this virus is easily transmitted. Recognizing the importance of the efforts of employees in the health facilities of the municipality of Belgrade, we have provided protective masks for them. We also donated protective suits for the needs of employees of the Health Center and the Public Utility Company of Stara Pazova Municipality."

EKO Serbia, a network of gas stations, donated 5 million dinars for the purchase of medical equipment. Two million dinars are aimed to the Institute of Virology, Vaccines and Serums "Torlak" for the procurement of a diagnostic test for coronavirus, while the remaining three million dinars are intended for the purchase of respirators. In this way, EKO Serbia joined the UNICEF initiative in its efforts to support the Government of Serbia in the fight against Covid-19.

Eurobank has provided 6 million dinars for the purchase of necessary medical equipment needed to combat the coronavirus epidemic. "We are aware that the situation requires rapid response and support in order for healthcare institutions and patients to be treated appropriately with medical treatment. As one of the contributors to the fight against the coronavirus epidemic, Eurobank has secured funding of 6 million dinars for the purchase of medical and protective equipment for the treatment of coronavirus patients. With this donation, we also want to show support for our healthcare system, which is a very difficult task. We believe that now, more than ever, we need to show solidarity and responsibility towards the society in which we operate, "said Slavica Pavlovic, President of the Executive Board of that bank.

Their local municipalities supported the Fabrika šećera Crvenka, with 4 tons of sugar, as well as the Kleemann and the Titan cementara Kosjeric, emphasizing their intention to make additional donations.

All of HBA member companies that have shown social and moral principles through their contribution, have stated that they will always be on the side of the host country and are confident that we will all emerge victorious of this battle!
