IT sector of Western Balkans develops, but still lagging behind Europe

Information technology market in Serbia, as well as in the other countries of Southeast Europe, grows quickly and has great potentials, but it is still lagging behind the markets of the developed European countries. This was estimated by the Deputy Manager of "ComTrade" Branislav Đurić.

While the countries of Western Europe invest more than 1,000 EUR per capita in IT sector, the countries of the southeast region invest about 50 EUR per capita.

According to his words, Serbia annually sets aside about 300m EUR for development of IT sector and, although the growth of expenses is larger than in the other countries of the region, the IT market is the most developed in Croatia where more than 500m EUR, about 120 EUR per capita, are annually invested in that sector.
