Screening for Chapter 27 in the environmental protection field starts
Today, Brussels saw the opening of explanatory screening for Chapter 27 within which fields of horizontal legislation, air quality, noise protection, waste management, environmental protection, chemicals, control of industry pollution and risk management and climate changes will be considered.
As it was stated at the Ministry
of Agriculture and Environmental Protection, the screening will last until
Friday, September 19 and the delegation will be led by the negotiation group
head, the state secretary, of the Ministry, Stana Bozovic.
In her introductory speech, Bozovic outlined that the EU integration process is
the main priority for the Government of Serbia.
The preparation mainly focus on the identification of request of legal aspects from this field, the estimation of the current situation in Serbia, definition of lacks and prioritization of essential steps and activities.
Bozovic expressed expectations that in the next five days they will be in the situation to get additional information and guidelines which will support in not only better preparation for negotiation but mainly to develop the compliance process with EU legislation in the given field.
