Index of Serbian companies (SRX) on Viennese Stock Exchange since March 7 - Gordana Dostanić believes that SRX index will attract investments

The Manager of the Belgrade Stock Exchange, Gordana Dostanić, said that she expected the increase in number of foreign investors on our securities market thanks to the introduction of the index of Serbian companies (SRX) on Viennese Stock Exchange.

She added that the positive influence of SRX index could be reflected in further quicker determination of our companies to present their shares on the domestic stock exchange market.

The Manager of the Belgrade Stock Exchange is of the opinion that it is too soon to talk about concrete effects of SRX index, which has been formed since March 7, but she believes that the sale of license for this index to interested investors by Viennese Stock Exchange can and should influence the increase in the basic market liquidity, first of all, the securities that make index basket of the Belgrade Stock Exchange.

Dostanić also points to the possibility of trade in SRX index and that so-called derivative securities are based on this indicator, such as BELEX15 index. The index basket of SRX indicators of Viennese Stock Exchange includes eight Serbian companies, six of which are banks, which proved to be the most liquid, says the Manager of the Belgrade Stock Exchange.

However, it is not a realistic reflection of the situation on our market, because not only the banks are liquid. Once the privatization of large public companies, such as "Telekom", Electric Power Company of Serbia, Petroleum Industry of Serbia, JAT, etc., is finished and they are included in the index, the overall picture of the investment climate in Serbia will be much clearer, Dostanić explains.
