French Credi Agricole, biggest European bank by capital and second rated in the world will take over Meridian bank of Novi Sad. Head of the bank will be Božidar Đelić, ex minister of finance, who will be the director of Credy Agricole group for Eastern Europe, member of the board of directors of Credy Agricole group, vice-president Lucas bank in Poland, in charge of development for Eastern Europe, Ukraine and Russia and adviser Kalion, investment bank Credy Agricole group for development in eastern and southeastern Europe.

Formally Đelić will stay a member of Democratic Party but in the next 6 years will not take on any king of political involvement in Serbia

Credy Agricole has the ambition to become the biggest bank in Serbia in working with the resident sector, in crediting small and middle sized companies, also on the leasing market, life insurance and spender credits.

Bank is engaged in over 66 countries and has employee capability of 134,000 people, total capital for the year 2004. was valued at over 46 billion EURO, net profit 3,9 billion EURO. In France they have over 9100 branches and 22 million clients.
