In the previous week, a list of Konzum, Mercator and Getro shops which must be sold or rented in 30 days was published. If not, their business operations will be shut down.

As the advertisement states, a bidder cannot be an entity related to Agrokor or Mercator or their board members and must have financial assets based on which it can be presumed that it will be able to operate at the market. These are all the terms which the Agency for market competition (AZTN) set before Agrokor due to takeover of Slovenian trade chain, Meractor.

Spar, which has recently increased its retail market share through a takeover of 20 Diona’s shops in Zagreb area, showed an interest to take over Agrokor’s shops.

- Spar is expanding and of course we are interested. The management will meet and see which of the offered locations best suits them – Spar representatives confirmed tportal.

Ivica Todoric, the owner of Agrokor, could probably agree in an easier way with some of the domestic trade chains and foreign, such as Spar, are much more dangerous competitor with strong basics at their own markets, seebiz.eu. reports.

At the area of the City of Zagreb, Agrokor sells and/or rents 25 points of sale and 19 in the area of Zagreb vicary. In 13 vicaries more, 51 points of sales will be disinvested.
