Turkish air transportation company "Atlas jet" has obtained the license from the Directorate for Civil Air Transportation for the flights on Niš-Istanbul route.

- The Ministry has issued the license for flights from Niš, three times a week – people from the Ministry of Capital Investments of Serbia announced.

Radisav Radojković, the Manager of international airport "Konstantin Veliki" in Niš, stated that the Directorate for Air Transportation would issue the formal license for charter flights of Turkish air transportation company "Atlas jet" on Niš-Istanbul route on Monday.

He said that he had “checked information” that the Directorate for Air Transportation had obtained the green light from the authorized ministry to issue such license, so that the charter flights from the Niš airport to Turkey could be considered “done”, because the obstructionist of such arrangement could only be the Ministry, not the Directorate.

- We are happy for such decision, which is welcome, because the Niš airport is in very difficult situation after the decision of "JAT Airways" to give up flights from Niš due to alleged non-profitability – said Radojković.

"Atlas jet" submitted the aforementioned request in February, expressing its willingness to start with the flights on March 20, 2007.
