Turkish company "Atlas jet" flies from Niš-based airport?
The Minister of Capital Investments, Velimir Ilić, stated, at the meeting with the management of the Nišava region and Airport "Konstantin Veliki", that he would sign the permit for the flights on Niš-Istanbul route, in which Turkish company "Atlas Jet" is interested.
- Niš-based airport must be developed. I, as an authorized Minister, do not want to impede the development of the economy of this region. The citizens of Niš and the environment need to fly to Turkey for business and tourism. If "JAT" can't fly, then we should let the other companies fly - said Minister Ilić.
Turkish airliner "Atlas jet" has submitted request last month, expressing readiness that the flights on Niš-Istanbul route start on March 20. Charter flights on this route would be carried out once or twice a week at start, but it would later grow into the permanent flight.
According to the words of the Manager of Niš-based airport, Radoslav Radenković, this company is in the middle of the negotiations about the summer flight schedule, which is expected to compensate for everything Niš-based airport lost during the winter months.
