Yesterday (March 8, 2007), the new modern four-seat ski lift "Duboka 1", of which construction cost 4.5m EUR, was put into operation on Kopaonik mountain. The ski lift can transport 1,800 skiers per hour, but the capacity can be raised to 2.400.

The difference in heights is 373 m, and the upper station is at 1,988 m above the sea level. Present five ski lifts on Kopaonik can transport 27,500 skiers per hour, which makes "Kopaonik the most modern ski center in the region" - said the Manager of Public Company "Skijališta Srbije" Ljubiša Radovanović.

The ski lift that was built by company "Amiga" from Kraljevo was opened by Mlađan Dinkić. Construction of ski lift "Duboka 1", as well as ski lift "Duboka 2", which was put into operation of January 8, 2007, was financed from the National Investment Plan.

Construction of "Duboka 2" cost 3.3m EUR. The plan is that the new ski tracks be organized on Kopaonik and that the accumulation lakes be built, as well as that the "snow guns" be bought for production of artificial snow during the entire ski-season. Also, the construction of ski lift on Stara mountain and on Zlatibor mountain is in the pipeline.
