"Telekom Slovenije" to invest over 120m EUR in construction of mobile network in Kosovo

The Consortium made of "Telekom Slovenija" and "Ipko net" has officially become the second mobile telephony operator in Kosovo.

The license contract with the Kosovo Telecommunication Agency was signed by the President of the ADministration of "Telekom Slovenije", Bojan Dremelj, the Head Executive Manager of "Mobitel", Klavdij Godnič, and Akam Ismaili from "Ipko net" with the Manager of the Kosovo Telecommunication Agency, Anton Berisha.


"Telekom Slovenije" has met all the conditions of the open competition for the license, after the Consortium made of three aforementioned companies paid 75m EUR for the concession on February 22, 2007.



The signing of the contract took place in the presence of the Prime Minister of the Government of Kosovo, Agim Cheku, who expressed his satisfaction with the signed contract, important to local population, because it will "enable competition and greater offer in field of telecommunications in Kosovo".

The representative of "Telekom Slovenije", Bojan Dremelj, said that that was the largest investment that company ever placed outside Slovenia.

In addition to 75m EUR for concession, "Telekom Slovenije" group will invest more than 120m EUR in the construction of mobile network in Kosovo through company "Ipko net".
