The city manager, Goran Vesic and the city architect, Milutin Folic, discussed yesterday at the Directorate for construction land and construction of Belgrade with companies which rented land, i.e. got locations they can build on in Belgrade but which are facing different problems to make locations usable. Apart from the acting director of the Directorate, Branislav Popovic, the meeting was attended by secretaries for urbanism and construction affairs, property-legal affairs and public prosecutor, Beoinfo reports.

– The meeting was held in line with the new city policy with which we want to support investments. The discussion was open and fruitful and we defined problems. We solved some of them immediately and some of them will be dealt with in the future. We let all the companies know that the doors of the heads of town are open and that they can turn to both us and secretariat for any problem. Our only wish and ambition is to as soon as possible attract more investments in Belgrade – Vesic said.

He added it is impermissible that projects of 200-300 thousand square meters totaling a few million euros are not implemented because a secretariat cannot find a solution or an investor is not capable of fighting complicated administration. The Directorate for city land and construction of Belgrade prepared a table overview of twenty unrealized locations which are rented after May 2013 and for which total obligations have been settled and yet they have not been finished. It is mainly about domestic investors, with an exception of Mercator, Dorcol Marine and one Chinese investment.

– Every investor is equal, regardless of a thousand of a hundred thousand square meters. We want to talk to everybody and help in problem-solving. Every case is specific and sometimes we speak about administration, urban problems but we believe that when there is good will, they can be solved. Of course, we cannot solve something which is not in line with the law but we want the investors in such cases to know at least where they are. Therefore, we will have meetings with all companies separately to speed up the procedure – Vesic pointed out.

Milutin Folic pointed out that many investors find it important that soon General urban plan with additional general regulation plans is adopted.
