Serbian Prime Minister, Aleksandar Vucic, said that the Government unanimously adopted the Law and Law on pensions and disabled insurance.

As he announced, the laws will be at the Assembly on Tuesday and they will be voted on Thursday. The entire word will support the labor law.

The Prime Minister explained that Government, despite the pressures and protests, decided to adopt the Law and Law on pensions and disabled insurance and pointed out it will be two thinks the Government will take credits for in 100 days of work. The President of the Government thanked the Minister of Finance, Lazar Krstic who resigned , and outlined there was no argument with him about money, benefits or superstition.

- We agree, everything Lazar said is true. Serbia was ruined by irresponsible politicians with their irresponsible decisions – Vucic pointed out.

He said he will not step back an inch when it comes to implementation of economic reforms and fiscal consolidation measures, that he will not step back in case of pressures and that negotiations are no longer possible.

When it comes to protests of trade unions in Nemanjina during the adoption of changes to the Labor Law and the Law on pensions and disabled insurance, the Prime Minister said he ordered police security to step back.

- I do not see what you are going to do. Are you going to burn the building? I will not change my opinion – Vucic said.

He said that we paid RSD 705 billion for salary and pension increases.

- The Labor Law from 2005 caused a decrease of 354.000 working positions, majority of which unfortunately in private sector, 318.000 – Vucic says.

- If there had not been for irresponsible people, public debt would have been lower by a third and would have totaled 45 % of GDP. This kind of irresponsible policy made Serbia take difficult steps – Vucic explained.

Speaking about the Labor Law, the Prime Minister said that the law which was effective as of 2005, as well as bad politics of previous governments, caused private sector job losses. “Some of them protected positions, trade union rights while they did not protect people”, the Prime Minister said.
