UDOVICKI: Law on inspections subject of public discussion in July

The Law on Inspection Oversight, whose preparation is underway, will be made the subject of public discussion by the end of this month, and maybe even earlier, said Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Kori Udovicki, who also pointed out that that law was only the first step on a path toward a greater cooperation between the economy and the state.

- Our aim is to have an extensive public discussion, to make it a test for those who will apply the law and be affected by it in any way - Udovicki told the conference "Inspection Oversight Reform and Its Influence on Economy" organized by the Serbian Association of Managers in cooperation with the USAID.

As Udovicki noted, the aim of the Ministry was to make the state a service for citizens and the economy as it is currently more of an obstacle than a help in doing business.

She said that the adoption of aforementioned law would be the first condition to change that, adding that it was particularly important for the fight against grey economy.

According to her, there should be more cooperation, transparency and clarity in the work of public administration in order for the law to be better applied and serve the purpose.
